Babe Watch - Danielle Owner of Hollaback Cards

Babe Watch - Danielle Owner of Hollaback Cards

Back in the day, just a few short years ago, Etsy had just a few sellers creating Bravo-themed products. At that time, The Posh Shop Co was really well known for our Going Home to Watch Bravo keychains and our Housewives franchise pencil sets. Because there were such a small amount of people making Bravo-themed merchandise, I liked to follow them and see all the cool things they were creating. Since that time so many people have joined the Etsy Bravo-themed product pool. However, one thing remains the same: like an original OG Housewife, the OG Bravo-themed shops are still shining stars in the genre.

One of the shining stars in the Etsy/Bravo product universe is the talented and funny Hollaback Cards. Hollaback Cards is owned by Danielle, a pop-culture-loving dynamo who created pop-culture and Bravo-themed greeting cards when she couldn't find anything like that out in the world to purchase for her friends (again, going back to being an OG). She has a great brand focused on quality, humor and a lot of pop-culture knowledge.

Hollaback Cards has always focused most of its attention on selling their handmade greeting cards, but they have also added in some other products like magnets, stickers, and mugs. Whether you need a card for a Birthday, a Get Well Soon, a Baby Shower, or a holiday, Hollaback Cards has you covered! To see all of the products they have available, you can check them out at or on Etsy at HollabackCards.

In addition to her thriving business, Danielle has created this amazing online presence on Instagram where she not only shares her products but gives live commentary to Bravo shows, creates memes, and also hosts amazing bracket voting 'events' online. Her page is fun and colorful which draws you in, but her welcoming, funny, and friendly demeanor keeps you there. She truly chats with followers like they are her friends! I can't tell you how many times her commentaries have made me laugh or how many of her brackets I have voted on!

I have so much fun doing these Babe Watch features and learning more about women that I personally admire! I learned so much about Danielle in these short interview questions. Check out her answers below to learn more about this talented and interesting woman in business!

What is Your Website? Insta Handle? (Or However Else We Can Find You!) Hollabackcards

Why Did You Decide To Start Your Business? I decided to start my business in 2014 when I felt like I couldn't find fun pop culture cards to give to my friends. I would hand-make them Valentines and then it sort of grew from there.

Do You Have a Blog, Podcast, or Youtube Channel? Tell Us About It! Just my Instagram and Etsy!

What Is The Best Advice You Can Give to A Woman Starting Her Business Venture? The best advice I have is to always keep pushing forward and focus on your own ideas. Don't let what people are doing around you slow you down or make you second guess yourself. I think if you have a unique point of view and exciting ideas, people will flock to you and support you. The other advice I think is important is to always be kind to your customers and supporters. I try to treat everyone who follows me or buys items from my shop as if they were my friends because I would want the same thing.

What Is Something Most People Don't Know About You? I think most people don't know I have a job outside of making the cards and that Countess Luann is my favorite Real Housewife.

What Does Your Typical Day Look Like? I work a lot at my non-Etsy job, so my typical day is long hours at work followed by nights in the living room packaging orders and watching my favorite TV shows with my dog.

Who Are Some Women That Inspire You? (Globally and Locally) My grandmas, my mom, my best friends, and then, of course, Beyoncé, Carly Rae Jepsen, Charli XCX, Kim Petras, Kim Kardashian West, Kris Jenner

What Was One Huge Business Flop or Problem That You Had to Endure and How Did You Handle That? The biggest problem I've had to endure is other shops copying my designs. I've come to the conclusion that there's really nothing I can do to stop the copycats, but I just try to keep being original and hope my followers see that.

What Accomplishment Are You Most Proud Of? I'm very proud of growing my card business to the place it is today. I've worked so hard, and it brings me so much joy when people appreciate my work and the time I put into creating the designs.

What Do You Do For Self Care? Face masks, watching reality tv, online shopping, travel (pre-Covid days).

What Jobs Did You Work Before You Created Your Business? Tell Us Your Journey. I still work my current job, but I do corporate tax and before that, I've worked at an architectural foundation and a Chinese art foundation.

Give Us Five Fun Facts About You! 1. My dog is a Catahoula Leopard Dog (the state dog of Louisiana).

2. I have three degrees.

3. I am a UF Alum.

4. My hometown is Sarasota (where they film MTV's Siesta Key).

5. My greeting card was once shown on RHONY in Ramona's nightstand drawer.

What Sign Are You? Are You Into Astrology? Libra Sun, Pisces Moon. I love astrology!
