The first time I heard about Cat Golden was from my very first business mentor. She was in a little business tribe with Cat and she would talk about how Cat was a nurse who was trying to start a little business called Nurses Inspire Nurses. At the time, I was really just trying to get The Posh Shop Co started as well so I loved hearing about my mentor and Cat and how they were doing exactly what I wanted to do with my business. However, it wasn't until the day that my mentorship group had a bonus call on mindset in business that I realized how very special Cat truly is. Cat came on that call, not knowing any of us, but somehow speaking directly to our souls. She inspired something inside me so much that I can honestly say from that point I knew two things: 1) Cat was an inspiration and 2) Cat was going to be something amazing.

Cat started her business like so many of us do while still working her regular job and in her spare time creating products in her home. She had a little website made up where she sold her items. She also did these things called Coffee Talks for her nurse friends where they would meet in local coffee shops and talk about being not only nurses but humans in nursing. She started with just a few people attending, just a few items being sold, just a few followers on social media. Fast forward to now, 2020, Cat Golden, Owner of Nurses Inspire Nurses, took her small and humble business and created what I can truly refer to as an empire. She now has a community over over 50K followers (between her personal page and Nurses Inspire Nurses Page), she has a warehouse full of her constantly evolving collections of apparel, accessories, home goods, office goods, and fun things for nurses, and she has a TEAM of people who work with her.

As if Cat didn't seem impressive enough just by looking at a glimpse of her business, she also has an extremely successful nurse mentorship program called Leap Land Live to help nurses live a life that they can be obsessed with! Within Nurses Inspire Nurses she has also created an amazingly supportive community where people share and continue to have those Coffee Talks we mentioned earlier. And, lastly, Cat is a talented public speaker who has traveled to speak to nurses, women's groups, and more.

Cat the business owner is a dynamo...that's for sure. But the single best thing about Cat? Her amazing heart. Cat started everything she started with the premise that she wanted to give back to people who give so much of themselves to others. She has succeeded in so many ways whether it being giving nurses a community and friendships, giving them mentorship to better their lives and make changes that may be necessary, and, sure, giving them some adorable things to buy along the way! But Cat's giving nature doesn't end there...she also loves to give back in fun, surprising, and heartfelt ways. When COVID 19 became prevalent, Cat reacted. She saw that nurses were out working in a tiring and frankly scary situation. She started asking for donations for care packages and with that successfully received enough donations to create care packages for so many in the nursing community.

What Was One Huge Business Flop or Problem That You Had to Endure and How Did You Handle That?

I started a subscription when I first started my business. I thought it would be awesome but had no clue how much work it would entail, it was mindset videos paired with a physical item in the mail and it was successful but actually cost me money. I did it for six months then knew I had to stop it. I just wrote a letter to everyone saying thanks but that we were going a different direction.

Moving to Colorado by myself when I was barely 22. Breaking off an engagement after I was divorced. Selling my house when it wasn't logical. Building a 7 figure business in under two years.
